The Bulldogs competed in the Region 6-5A Championship this week and both men and women ended the meet with 3rd place team results.

The Lady Bulldogs started the day off combining Sarah Culberson, Claire Culberson, Summer Reinecke and Emma Huma in the 200 Medley Relay to take 1st place. Their time of 1:49.48 placed them at the top of the podium and earned them their first qualifying event for the state meet.

Summer Reinecke put up team points swimming the 100 Breast in the A final and finishing 8th with a 1:12.56. She will make her first trip to the state meet swimming on the 200 Medley Relay. Reinecke also joined with Megan Rubio, Brooke Reinecke, and Isabelle Draeger for another top eight finish in the 200 Free Relay earning 7th place.

Freshman Emma Huma swam the 200 Free (1:56.06) to 5th place finish and also had a strong showing in the 500 Free (5:11.87) where she received 4th place. Huma finished strong enough in both races to earn call ups and will be heading to state as a freshman in both individual events and relays.

Sarah Culberson swam the 200 IM as her first individual event of day and took the gold with a 2:06.56. She had a strong showing in the 100 Back (57.04) earning second place, a personal best and breaking her own school record of a 57.93 from the year prior.
